Dancing On Ice's Brianne Delcourt blasts Megan Barton Hanson’s ‘overnight fame’ and says skaters ‘earned’ their right to be in the public eye as nasty feud boils over again

The 37-year-old professional skater lashed out when Megan, 24, claimed Vanessa Bauer's decision to split with her boyfriend the night before the start of this series was “tactical”.

Vanessa and Megan’s row started following the second episode of the hit ITV show, when Megan’s boyfriend Wes Nelson, 20, took to the ice with Vanessa for the first time.

After Megan’s outburst, Brianne backed Vanessa and posted a message to a fan online where she mocked how quickly Megan had come into the limelight.

She tweeted: “Thing is, we didn’t fall into fame overnight because of a reality show.

“We earned what we now do as a living…”

After receiving comments from her followers, Brianne deleted the message and has since kept silent on Megan’s scathing outburst.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun the following day, Megan said she thought Vanessa had been “disrespectful” towards her.

Megan said: “She knows questions are going to be asked about her and Wes and me being worried about them spending time together.

“Dancing on Ice is very romantic and all about looking into each other’s eyes and parading around on the ice and being loved up together – it’s not easy to watch.

“Wes is my main priority, I love him. I am so passionate about him but it is going to be difficult now.”

Although Megan was praised by some for her honesty, her Love Island co-star, Eyal Booker, admitted he believed the model was overreacting.

Eyal, who said he’d only heard a bit about the drama when he saw it on Instagram, told The Sun: “Wes is smitten with Megan, we can all see that.

“So I think, [of Vanessa] poor girl, let her have her five minutes with Wes dancing with her.

“She’s a professional performer and you get in to the performance. That’s how we as an audience buy into something, because it’s real and genuine.

“Just because they’re dancing together doesn’t mean they’re in bed together.”
