Coronation Street fans have slammed the newest teenage pregnancy storyline, claiming it is "the same story" over and over.
Amy Barlow, in tonight’s episodes, revealed that she was pregnant, telling Liz McDonald before allowing her parents, Tracy Barlow and Steve McDonald, found out when they discovered the test in their washing bin.
But fans were unimpressed to see yet another baby storyline after seeing a few others over the last few years.
One fan said: "This Amy Barlow storyline is so ****** stupid we’ve had so many teen pregnancies on Corrie and it’s like teenage girls on the soap can do nothing else but have babies."
Another said: "I love Corrie, but your writers really need to start writing something new & fresh"
A third added: "3rd teen pregnancy story, can you not come up with something new? # Corrie"
Another said: "Oh Amy Sensing some Sarah Lou and Amy scenes coming up # Corrie"
A fifth said: "# Corrie bloody loves a teenage pregnancy! Sarah-Lou, Faye now Amy. Script starting to dry up? Let’s knock up another child! Yawn! # coronationstreet"
The first teen pregnancy of recent years was Sarah Louise Platt, who got pregnant with Bethany more than 18 years ago, when she was just 13 years old.
Bethany is now a fully fledged grown up, but the same can’t be said for Faye Windass, who got pregnant at just 12.
Faye decided to give the baby up to Jackson Hodge in the end, after she failed to bond with baby Miley.
Now, Amy has found out she is pregnant at 14 years old, though at the moment there is no ideas around who is the baby’s father.
Despite many fans taking against the storyline, one fan stood in defence of the soap saying: "People saying that Amy’s baby storyline has been done with Sara # corrie wake up people kids r still having sex and getting pregnant 20 yrs on."
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
