Coronation Street star Alan Halsall reveals his workout routine after unveiling his transformation

Coronation Street‘s Tyrone Dobbs may not be one of the guys who regularly whips his shirt off on the soap – that was more Jason Grimshaw’s specialty – but actor Alan Halsall has proved that he’d be more than up for the challenge.

Alan, who has played Tyrone since 1998, has revealed that he’s recently been spending “all day” in the gym to buff up his body.

“I’ve had a PT [personal trainer] for about four or five months,” he told The Sun. “I’ve been coming to the gym for a few years now. I’ve transformed a little bit myself and people have seen that.

“I like to come [to the gym]. I have a pre-workout meal, I work out, then I have a post-workout meal or a swim and a steam.

“I can come here and learn my lines. You can pretty much spend the day here.”

His new look hasn’t gone unnoticed by fans, with his Instagram followers keen to comment on his photos with statements like “Those arms. Wow” and “You have lost so much weight since you first started Corrie“.

And that’s not the only change Alan has been through recently, as he also celebrated the results of a hair transplant earlier this year.

Alan and his wife Lucy-Jo Hudson are in the process of divorcing after nine years of marriage, with Lucy-Jo confirming the news in May through her spokesperson.

“I can confirm that Al and I are in the process of divorcing,” she said. “We remain friends and devoted Mummy and Daddy to our daughter Sienna. We would appreciate privacy so that we can focus on Sienna’s continued happiness.”

The couple originally got together after Lucy-Jo joined Coronation Street as Katy Harris in 2002, with their daughter Sienna Rae arriving in 2013.
