X Factor star Chico shocked the nation when he announced his wife’s weight live on TV, before making a callous joke at her expense.
Chico revealed how much Danieyla weighs while speaking to the Loose Women panel, before joking: "Who ate all the pies?" when talking about her.
He was on the show to talk about a stroke he had, before breaking down in tears as he talked about the "miracle recovery" which followed, and how he was able to get back to singing and performing.
Chico said he and his wife, Danieyla, have changed their view on life, and it gave her the boost she needed to go on a health kick.
He said: "My wife, she is a smoker, she is 518, she is a very large woman.
"She turned round and said, ‘I’m going to go from block fat to block fit!’
“My God, it’s only taken 15 years and a stroke for you to get on that bike. I have been banging this drum for years!”
The audience laughed as Chico continued: “People look at me, Mr six pack and you, and it’s ‘Who ate all the pies?’”
“The truth has to be told. We have different body types. She eats less than all of us, she’s just less active and has thyroid [issues].”
The panel, which included Nadia Sawalha, Andrea McLean, Chizzy Akodulu and Kay Adams, just laughed and smiled as he made the comment, but fans at home were fuming by his joke, and took to social media to share their upset.
One said: "If I was Chico’s wife I’d be f****** angry after that comment about ‘who ate all the pies’!!"
Another added: "I can’t believe Chico is talking about his wife like this!"
A third said: "Did Chico just fat shame his wife on tv xxxxxxxxxxx #loosewomen"
