Celebrity Juice host Keith Lemon has described what happened when he was almost mugged earlier this year.
Lemon tweeted about the incident at the time, which happened when he grabbed a lift home with former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Melvin Odoom.
“Cheers to @Melvinodoom for the lift home,” he wrote. “So crazy that some moped scum bag tried to steel my gold look Casio watch off my wrist. Ding bats I hope they fall off and hurt their bodies. Wrong dude I’m not jay z. I don’t have no naughty watch.”
During an interview with Jonathan Ross to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Celebrity Juice, Lemon has now reflected on that incident, revealing that at first he thought it was a fan trying to get a picture with him.
“I almost got mugged,” he explained on The Jonathan Ross Show. “I was with Melvin Odoom, we were driving home, it was sunny, I had my arm hanging out [of the window]. Someone was pulling my arm.
“I thought it was someone asking for a photograph… You do get people asking for pictures. I was ready to [pose for the photo]. It was a man trying to steal my watch.”
Fortunately nothing was taken during the incident, and Keith Lemon soon started to use his appearance on the talk show to try and convince host Jonathan to take part in one of his series.
“A lot of people ask me whose house would I like to do [on Through the Keyhole] and I always say your name,” Keith explained. “I like seeing all your magic tricks. You collect such interesting things.”
And then, when it comes to filling the gap that’ll be left by Holly Willoughby on Celebrity Juice as she goes off to Australia to help Dec host I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, Lemon had another suggestion.
“What are you doing on Wednesdays?” he asked Jonathan. “We could put a wig on you?”
Now that’s something we’d like to see. Make it happen, ITV.
