We’ve been waiting, we’ve been wondering and now we are rejoicing — the first official Captain Marvel trailer is here and it does NOT disappoint. Brie Larson stars as Carol Danvers, a.k.a. Captain Marvel, in the latest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and shows off just how badass she really is as she returns to earth. But how did she get there?
The trailer opens with Carol making a crash-landing onto the planet (near a Blockbuster store, more specifically) and proceeds to show her become noticeably lost in this not-so brand new world, having no recollection of her former life as a pilot for the U.S. Air Force. From there, a familiar voice is heard saying, “War is a universal language. I know a renegade soldier when I see one. It never occurred to me that one might come from above.”
It’s Nick Fury, played by Samuel L. Jackson, of course. And we have goosebumps… of course.
While we now have a 2ish-minute preview of what to expect from Captain Marvel, the overall plotline is still being kept tightly under wraps. You can check out the full trailer above to come up with your own conclusions on what to expect when the flick opens on March 8, 2019.
