Black Panther cast school Avengers: Infinity War directors in exclusive clip

Avengers: Infinity War was shot before Black Panther was released, so directors Joe and Anthony Russo didn’t know how much of a sensation the heroes of Wakanda were going to become when they were shooting their movie.

Digital Spy‘s exclusive clip from the Infinity War home entertainment release’s extras reveals that the Russos were ahead of the curve, consulting with Danai Gurira (Okoye), Chadwick Boseman (T’Challa) and Winston Duke (M’Baku) on the proper battle cries of the fictional African nation.

“There was a lot of input, and we could share how we would express ourselves, what war cries we use as Wakandans,” said Gurira.

“You get the actors involved, and of course they know their characters better than anybody,” added Joe Russo. “They have great input.”

Infinity War comes to a close with most of the surviving heroes in Wakanda. The technologically advanced – and, up until recently, highly secretive – country has been teased to play a major role in the future of the MCU.

Black Panther, which was released two months before Infinity War, is currently the ninth highest-grossing movie of all time. Infinity War itself is the fourth highest-grossing after Avatar, Titanic and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Black Panther is also the first MCU movie that Disney is pushing for recognition at the Oscars.

Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on September 3.
