Ann Widdecombe blasts Katya Jones and demands she gets kicked off Strictly

Ann Widdecombe has demanded Katya Jones be kicked off Strictly Come Dancing for cheating on her hubby Neil Jones with her celeb dance partner, Seann Walsh.

The former MP slammed Katya and Seann for acting on their feelings, and praised former contestant Jeremy Vine for not acting on his attraction to dance partner Karen Clifton.

She said it’s "the way people behave that counts" and slammed her naughty interviewer, Piers Morgan, for suggesting she and her partner Anton Du Beke had a naughty tryst while they Cha Cha Cha-ed together.

Ann said: “I have to say if I had been Katya’s husband, I would have just demanded she left the show for the rest of the series. I would have said, ‘I can’t trust you now you have to leave the show’.

"Given that he hasn’t taken that line and given that they have decided to go on dancing it’s now very much down to the viewers.

"It’s perfectly valid for the viewers to say, ‘I was going to vote for them but I think now I won’t because I don’t want to watch this for however many weeks it is’."

She said those who go on the show should excersise self-control, knowing whether their relationship is strong enough to work with all the sexy dance moves being practised.

Ann continued, when asked if it’s difficult to control onself: "Nonsense, look you know when you go on that’s the situation you’re going to be in and if you can’t handle when the agent says, ‘We have a bid from Strictly’, say, ‘no thanks."

She then became enraged when Piers started to have a go at her about "getting jiggy" with Anton.

Ann quickly replied: "Don’t be silly! The point is, he was in it for the dancing, I was in for the fun and relaxation and that is what Strictly is supposed to be about.

"There is no such thing, Piers, as ‘The Curse of Strictly’, it isn’t some hex that makes people behave that way, it’s their own lack of control.”

"He’s 20 years younger than me. Spare us Piers and stop talking rot!"

Former Strictly contestant Mark Foster, who did the show ten years ago, added: "If you don’t have trust in your relationship or there are cracks that could possibly appear in your relationship, you shouldn’t be doing it in the first place.

"It’s about self-control first and foremost.

"You are very connected, depending on what dance you are doing…in the workplace every day, whether here or in the studio – I don’t know how you keep your hands off this man here anyway – or in the workplace, people have temptation all the time, it’s whether you do something about it or not."

The debate comes after Katya and Seann were spotted snogging in the street on Wednesday night, after a few drinks.

Both parties apologised and will still perform their Charleston on Saturday night, despite some calling for them to be removed from the show.

Katya’s husband, Neil, posted a sexy photo of himself on Monday, after the pictures came out over the weekend, but did not speak out about the incident specifically.

Meanwhile, Seann’s now ex-girlfriend Rebecca Humphries posted a long statement on Monday night, confirming their split and claiming she had suspected him for weeks, but he had called her a "psycho" for making any suggestions of infidelity.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV, and Strictly Come Dancing airs at 6.30pm on Saturday on BBC1.
