Alexa is down: Amazon’s smart assistant crashes for users across UK and Germany

UPDATE: Alexa is now back up and running.

It’s one of the most popular smart assistants in the world, but it seems that Alexa has crashed this morning.

Amazon’s smart assistant has been having issues for users across the UK and Germany since 08:24 GMT.

Amazon is yet to comment on the cause of the outage.

However, on Down Detector, many frustrated users have logged issues.

Half of these users said they were having issues with server connection, while the other half said the problem was with login.

Several users have also taken to Twitter to report issues.

Neil tweeted: “Alexa seems to be down. She won’t even tell me the time.”
