Who is Dillon Danis? Conor McGregor's team-mate who Khabib jumped in crowd for after UFC 229 main event

The Russian, who had just defended his title against the popular Irishman in a fourth-round submission, jumped the Octagon in the aftermath and ignited a brawl but who is Dillon Danis and why was he the target? Here's the lowdown…

Who is Dillon Danis?

Dillon Danis was born on August 22, 1993 in New Jersey.

The 25-year-old started training ji jitsu at age 15 and is now a black belt under Marcelo Garcia, as part of a generation of grapplers produced by the respected Alliance New York Academy.

In 2016, he was invited to become a coach and main grappling training partner of Conor McGregor ahead of the Notorious’ match against Nate Diaz, for UFC 202.

What happened at UFC 229?

Khabib jumped out of the Octagon after making McGregor tap, and started brawling with members of the crowd, seemingly targeting Danis.

One of his team then sucker-punched McGregor, and all hell broke loose  in the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas.

There have now been calls for him to be stripped of the title, and given a lengthy suspension from the UFC.

He could also face criminal charges after the shocking scenes, and may even have his visa revoked, according to legend Michael Bisping.
