Son of tragic Leicester owner gives Watford fans free food and drink in amazing gesture to say thank you for touching banner

The King Power Stadium rose as one for a standing ovation after away supporters unveiled the huge "Thank you Vichai" message, just  over a month since the Foxes’ chairman died in a helicopter crash following a home game against West Ham.

Vichai's son Aiyawatt called the gesture "amazing" and added "#atfootballfamily" as he tweeted the offer of free refreshments.

The banner had been unfurled ahead of kick-off before being handed to home supporters.

It read: “Thank you Vichai for allowing us all to dream. Rest in peace.”

Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha watched on, clearly touched, as he arrived at the seat where he used to sit alongside his father.

Foxes fans were quick to greet him with hand shakes and messages of support.

The club’s vice-chairman was clearly moved as he puffed out his cheeks and looked out at the supporters who have shown their love for his father.

It comes just days after Prince William and Kate met with Aiyawatt at the King Power Stadium as they paid their respects to Vichai.

In the match day programme, Aiyawatt wrote: “It was an amazing personal gesture for Their Royal Highnesses to visit us and to pay tribute to my father and those that lost their lives here on 27 October.

“I was so proud to be able to demonstrate how this city, our community, has come together in response to the accident.”
