Ascot and Haydock host brilliant cards over the sticks, and there is one who I’ve just got to back at appealing each-way odds.
MR MEDIC (3.00 Ascot) returns to the scene of his career-best performance.
He was a ready winner of a hot contest over C&D two starts ago, and ran a lot better than the bare result when sixth at Cheltenham last time.
He was absolutely swinging along on the bridle in behind the eventual winner Frodon when making a race-ending blunder four out.
That performance suggested there is room for manoeuvre in his current mark of 143, while he is unbeaten in two outings over fences at Ascot, so the return to this track is a big plus.
They could go a scorching gallop here, which could set things up perfectly for Robert Walford’s strapping eight-year-old.
