Sandro Ramirez ridiculed by fans over one embarrassing moment

Everton fans may have been forgiven for thinking they’d picked up a bargain when they signed Sandro Ramirez from Malaga.

A product of Barcelona’s La Masia academy, the Spaniard had just scored 14 goals in La Liga and looked a snip given his £5.2million release clause.

Fast forward just one year and two loan moves later, and he still hasn’t scored even a single goal.

And things look to be going from bad to worse for Ramirez, who appeared to trip over a blade of grass when he had a sight of goal for loan club Real Sociedad at the weekend.

On 75 minutes, with the game locked at 0-0, Ramirez was released through the middle and looked as if he might finally break his goal hoodoo.

But he failed to get a shot away, tumbling over in the opposition penalty area.

At first glance, it appeared as if he may have been pushed, but on closer inspection, it becomes clear that he kicked the ground instead of the ball.

Comically, Ramirez almost flips over and does a nose dive into the ground. The game went on to finish 0-0, leaving Sociedad 13th in the table.

Ramirez, on loan from Everton, lasted only six months on Merseyside before being shipped back to Spain with Sevilla. He made 13 appearances in the second half of last season, but failed to register a single goal.

He was once again loaned out to Spain for the remainder at the beginning of this campaign, but has so far found game time hard to come by, featuring just three times in 11 games so far this term.

Here’s how fans reacted to his most recent hapless moment…
