Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior banned from El Clasico after getting sent off minutes after scoring stunning free-kick for Castilla

Vinicius, 18, was fouled 25 yards out with just eight minutes remaining of Real Madrid's 'B team' match with Celta Vigo B.

And the Brazilian stepped up to whip a sensational effort into the top corner giving the goalkeeper no chance.

He celebrated in typically nonchalant fashion and may have been thinking he had done enough to earn himself a chance to play when Real Madrid take on Barcelona next weekend.

But minutes later he was heading back to the dressing room with those hopes in tatters.

Having already been booked earlier in the second half as tempers flared, Vinicius went down in an attempt to con the referee.

He was shown a second yellow for his troubles which means he's suspended for at least one match.

Despite Castilla, who held on for a draw, playing in a different division to Real Madrid, the ban will still apply to La Liga.

The free-kick showed the ability of the starlet, signed earlier this year from Flamengo.

And with the first-team breaking the club's longest-ever goal drought record yesterday and suffering another defeat, this time at home to Levante, Vinicius could be promoted to provide a much-needed boost once his suspension is over.

However his inexperience shown by the red card could suggest he is not mentally ready for La Liga football just yet.

Julen Lopetegui is under increasing pressure because his side are without a win in their last five matches, losing four of those, and sit fifth in the league ahead of next week's El Clasico.

It could mean Castilla coach Santiago Solari could succeed the former Spain boss if the poor run continues.
