Manchester United stars furious with criticism from legends including Scholes and Ferdinand and are 'sharing clips of their mistakes during careers' in response

Paul Scholes and Rio Ferdinand have both been highly critical of the players and manager Jose Mourinho while working as pundits for BT Sport.

Ex-midfielder Scholes recently claimed that even Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi would struggle to perform under Mourinho while Ferdinand has questioned the player's "passion to work hard."

Gary Neville also hasn't been shy in sticking the knife into Manchester United's performances this season.

But according to the Mirror, United stars have hit back by finding videos of the icons' mistakes and sending them around to each other.

The article claims the current United crop are increasingly frustrated at the comments directed at them when the likes of Neville and Ferdinand endured tough spells of their own.

Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez have attracted the most criticism following their performances this season.

Pogba is thought to be so frustrated with his time at Old Trafford that he has tasked his super agent Mino Raiola to push through a move to Barcelona.

Mourinho is still under severe pressure despite their comeback win against Newcastle and faces a gruelling run of fixtures in the coming weeks that could seal his fate.

They travel to Chelsea on Saturday before taking on Juventus in the Champions League and then Everton.

A clash at Bournemouth is followed by another game against the Old Lady before the Manchester derby.
