Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho given huge boost with Luke Shaw set to return for the Chelsea clash

The 23-year-old picked up an ankle complaint during the thrilling win over Newcastle and hobbled out of Old Trafford after the final whistle.

Shaw then pulled out of England duty for tonight’s Uefa Nations League tie in Croatia.

United insisted on their official injury update that “it remains to be seen if Shaw will be available” to face Chelsea.

But medics at United’s Carrington HQ have assessed Shaw and the problem is minor.

Having Shaw fit for the trip to Stamford Bridge will help Mourinho keep momentum going.

In their last game out, the Old Trafford giants came back from two goals down against Newcastle to win 3-2 in the dying seconds.

Shaw has started every Premier League game this season apart from the win over Watford when he was recovering from concussion.

He has returned to Mourinho’s team after getting blasted by the United boss last season.

The former Southampton man is now scheduled for contract talks as his deal runs out in the summer.
