Manchester United are the SAME PRICE to get relegated as to win the Premier League

Bookies have written off the Red Devils' hopes of lifting the title pricing them at 250/1 to win the league.

These odds are a huge contrast to the 8/1 price which was available for them to be crowned champions at the start of the season.

Instead they have drifted out of contention and are now also 250/1 to get relegated, which seems incredibly unlikely.

But six per cent of punters following the derby have backed the unthinkable, by putting money on Jose Mourinho's side be in the Championship next season.

Oddschecker Spokesman George Elek: “Even the most optimistic Manchester United fan must now accept that a return to the summit of the Premier League is, for this season at least, not going to happen.

“A relegation for the Red Devils is unthinkable. but still only as unlikely as a Mourinho's men winning the top flight.”

With Manchester United's chances of winning the Premier League for the first time 2013 looking very slim, the best they can achieve now is finish in the top four, as high as possible.

But following the defeat, their odds of a top four finish have also drifted to 4/1.

With Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal now more likely to to finish in the Champions League places ahead of the Red Devils.
