The four-time Formula One world champion has been single since his split from Nicole Scherzingher in 2015.
The 33-year-old is a self-proclaimed workaholic and he plans to look for love when he retires from the race track.
Speaking to The Times, he said: "My love life is non-existent.
"I'm a workaholic. I don't have time for it.
"When you travel as much as I do it's hard to keep up a relationship, so I'm of the mindset that I'm not going to do that until I've stopped and no longer have to be single-minded.
"I want to have kids, but I want to be there for them – to be a good and present dad.
"But I'd be open to it if I happened to come across someone special."
Hamilton has been spotted with several women since his split from Scherzinger, including Rita Ora, Rihanna and Winnie Harlow.
His relationship with the Pussycat Dolls singer ended three years ago because he always prioritised his cars over her.
One of Hamilton's former girlfriends revealed to The Sun that the Formula 1 ace was obsessed with threesomes and regularly badmouthed his ex.
His hectic schedule stops relationships, but the 33-year-old has insisted that 25,000 air miles in 10 days will not affect his performance at the Singapore Grand Prix.
