Kell Brook offered ex-WBO star Jeff Horn fight with Amir Khan set to face Terence Crawford

Brook, 32, was been vying for a showdown against bitter rival Khan, 32, with the aforementioned previously revealing he was weighing up who his next opponent would be.

Khan has eventually settled for WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford, with the pair set to meet in America in April – leaving Brook once again left in the wings.

However, Horn’s promoter Dean Lonergan told Sky Sports that Eddie Hearn has offered his fighter the chance to fight Brook.

Lonergan said: "I've got a text into Eddie at the moment, my matchmaker has an email and a phone call into Eddie, we love this fight, to have Jeff Horn fight Kell Brook.

"If you were going to do it, you would definitely go to England, because the boxing market up there is on fire, and Kell Brook in Sheffield, which is where he comes from, you're definitely going to be filling a stadium wherever you go."

Horn rose to notoriety when he outpointed Pacquiao in July 2017 to rip the WBO welterweight title away from the Filipino boxing icon.

Although Horn would defend the belt against Brit Gary Corcoran five months later, the Aussie would have his belt convincingly taken away from against Crawford.

Crawford knocked Horn out after nine rounds, with the American set to defend his strap for the second time when he faces Khan.

Brook beat Horn's countrymen Michael Zerafa in his last fight, and once again called for a dometic grudge match with Khan.

However, Khan reasoned that taking the Crawford fight over Brook was a means of taking an opportunity that he did not believe would present itself again.

This theory was echoed by Lonergan, who agreed that Khan’s decision to fight pound-for-pound star Crawford over Brook was the right one.

Though he warned Khan of the immense power and ability Crawford owns, having watched his fighter be mesmuresed against the American last year.

Longren added: "I think that's a really smart move.

"Khan is a known quantity in America, which is why he's getting that big payday and Khan versus Crawford will bring an enormous amount of media in the English market.

"[Crawford promoter] Bob (Arum) is trying to build up Crawford into a global superstar. Taking on Khan is a really, really good move.”
