Jose Mourinho blasted by Paul Scholes for reaction at end of Manchester United victory over Juventus after fans taunt

Mourinho walked onto the pitch at the end of the game and cupped his ears to the Juventus fans and had to be escorted off the pitch by match officials and a member of the United staff after first being confronted by Leonardo Bonucci.

And Scholes was not impressed with the Portuguese and reckoned he should have shown a bit more class.

The ex-United star on BT Sport pundit duty said: "It's not necessary for Jose to do that, but it's everywhere he goes though.

"You need to win with a bit of class sometimes and just shake the manager’s hand.

"There's no need for it but that’s just the way he is."

Mourinho defended himself after the game saying: "I didn’t offend anyone at the end, I just made a gesture that I wanted to hear them louder.

"I probably shouldn’t have done it, and with a cool head I wouldn’t have done it, but with my family insulted, including my Inter family, I reacted like this.

Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring against his old side with a stunning volley on 65 minutes.

Juan Mata equalised with a wonderful free-kick on 86 minutes and Bonucci's own goal in stoppage time won it for United who go back to second place in Group H two points behind Juve.
