It’s time to just start rooting for the Europeans at the Ryder Cup

With the U.S. Ryder Cup team staggering toward its a sixth straight loss on European soil, it’s time to stop hoping for better performances and time to start rooting for the Europeans.

Parlez-vous le francais? No worries during the final day of compettiion at Le Golf National in France, as long as you’re willing to stifle those chants of “U-S-A, U-S-A.” Call me a traitor, but I prefer to see it as pragmatism.

I’m tired of being affiliated with the losers of every Ryder Cup held in Europe since 1997, so follow along as I explain why it’ll be easy to root for the Europeans:

Let’s start with Tommy Fleetwood, a.k.a. Fairway Jesus. With that long mane and the best hair in golf since John Daly’s mullet, who could root against him? He recently showed he’s as entertaining on Twitter as he is on the golf course when of the U.S. players he tweeted:

“None of them have long hair and almost all of them are taller than me, they also have American accents and mine is English, and my Wife is 20 years older than me.’’
