Is this howler by Lesotho ace Tumelo Khutlang the worse double miss of all time in clash against Tanzania?

The 23-year-old was in action in his country's African Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania when he spurned two open goals.

Capitalising on a loose back pass by defender David Mwantika, the Black Leopards forward latched onto the ball to go one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

Aishi Manula saved his initial effort, but the ball looped up in the air, leaving Khutlang with an easy seven-yard tap-in.

But he badly miscued his strike as the ball sliced towards the post as two hapless defenders failed to clear away the danger.

Khutlang then got a second bite at the cherry – this time from a yard out – but somehow failed to get any connection as he turned, swivelled and ended up on his backside.

Luckily for Khutlang, team-mate Nkau Lerotholi spared his blushes as he netted in the 77th minute to boost Lesotho's chances of qualifying for a first African Cup of Nations.

This season has saw many players left with their head in their hands after squandering a chance when it looked easier to score.

Alvaro Morata did his confidence no favours last night whilst in action for Spain after shooting wide against Bosnia from six yards out.

And no-one will be forgetting Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's atrocious effort against Chelsea in Arsenal's 3-2 defeat at Stamford Bridge in August.

Crystal Palace centre-back Mamadou Sakho cost the Eagles a crucial win against Newcastle in September after heading wide at Selhurst Park.

While West Ham new boy Andriy Yarmolenko was mocked by his team-mates following his horror miss against the Blues.
