Inter Milan star Marcelo Brozovic signs new deal the day after free-kick heroics

Croatia midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is one of six players to win contract extensions at the third-placed Serie A giants.

The 25-year-old became a Champions League sensation on Wednesday night, with his goal-stopping antics in a 2-0 defeat at the Nou Camp.

Luis Suarez whipped a free-kick under a wall of jumping Inter defenders.

But as the Uruguayan turned away ready to celebrate, a prone Brozovic appeared from just behind the wall.

He twisted to deflect the ball over the bar with his back.

That left Barcelona legend Lionel Messi summing up the feelings of many as he laughed in the stands, having been sidelined with a fractured arm.

Now Brozovic's dramatic week has just got better as Inter agreed a batch of deals.

A club spokesperson said: "Inter are happy to announce that Marcelo Brozovic, Antonio Candreva, Henrique Dalbert, Roberto Gagliardini, Joao Miranda and Matias Vecino have extended their contracts."

Brozovic's four-year deal keeps him at the San Siro until 2022 as Milan bid to end Juventus' stranglehold on the title.

Luciano Spalletti's men are currently six points adrift of Juve, who were classy 1-0 winners at Manchester United in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
