Higuain loan transfer to Chelsea gets huge vote of confidence from Blues fans

The 31-year-old is expected to leave Juventus for Stamford Bridge, having spent the first half of the season on loan at AC Milan.

Juventus want to sell Higuain to Chelsea for £32million, but Chelsea prefer a loan arrangement.

However Blues will have an option to buy him at that price in the summer window.

And it seems Blues fans are overjoyed that their manager Maurizio Sarri is finally adding some firepower up top.

In a poll conducted by SunSport, a whopping 82 per cent of readers believe he will be a hit at Stamford Bridge.

And football fans think the signing of the Argentina international will lead Chelsea to bigger and better things.

An incredible 96 per cent of readers believe the Blues will guarantee a top-four finish now with the hitman in their squad.

The striker refused to be drawn on the transfer when he landed back in Italy following AC Milan's 1-0 defeat to Juventus in the Supercoppa Italiana in Saudi Arabia.

Higuain and the rest of the Milan squad flew back in the early hours of Thursday morning, to be met by reporters.

Wearing a black hoodie, Higuain refused to answer questions about his move to the Premier League.

"Were you waiting for me?" he said.

"If you want to create mess, I'm not the right person to speak to."

Sarri's men will play the Argentine forward's £170,000-a-week wages for his loan period.

Juventus are expected to formally confirm the agreement to end Higuain's loan spell with AC Milan and start a new one at Chelsea by the end of the week.

The striker – who has 290 goals from 578 games for River Plate, Real Madrid, Napoli, Juventus and AC Milan – will then fly to London for a medical.
