France and Belgium joint-top of Fifa world rankings while England remain sixth in latest update

Belgium, who were knocked out by Les Bleus in the World Cup semi-final, join them at the top of the charts after the latest Uefa Nations League results.

It is the first time in history two countries have shared first place.

The Red Devils are in fact 0.13 of a ranking point HIGHER than France but rounding put the sides level on 1729.

France drew 0-0 with Germany in their Uefa Nations League opener this month and beat Holland 2-1 just days later.

Belgium, meanwhile, smashed Scotland 4-0 and Iceland 3-0 in their two matches.


England, who stunned the world to make the semi-finals in Russia, stay sixth.

The Three Lions lost 2-1 at home by Spain before beating Switzerland 1-0 in a friendly.

Brazil are third after Belgium, with World Cup finalists Croatia fourth and Uruguay fifth.

Portugal, Switzerland, Spain and Denmark make up the top ten.

Wales remain 19th after beating the Republic of Ireland (30th) and losing to Denmark, Northern Ireland are 28th and Scotland 39th.
