FUMBLY EAGLES
First it was Daniel Venables getting in the way of Josh Kennedy in a marking contest, then it was Tom Cole fumbling an easy chest mark with Jaidyn Stephenson breaking down his neck. Both incidents directly led to Collingwood goals and showed West Coast were the more nervous side, helping the Pies get the jump.

RIOLI ROLLS IT
This got the Eagles going, and they had to, because the Pies had been running rampant. Tom Langdon had a great first quarter but he simply had to rush the behind. He didn’t tap the ball hard enough and Rioli’s roadrunner legs got enough of the ball before it rolled over the line.

SHUEY SWINGS MOMENTUM
Luke Shuey’s goal late in the second term meant West Coast had kicked four of the last five goals. It also meant they’d finally taken advantage of their initiative in that quarter, their chip and mark game getting into gear because their excellent defence repelled everything Collingwood threw at them. If Pies fans thought their fast start would ensure them the premiership, they didn’t anymore after Shuey’s major.

YEO NO, NOT THE RUNNER
Taylor Adams wanted to get the Pies going in the third quarter, and he had the ball in his defensive 50 with Stephenson leading through the middle. He tried to hit him with a kick, only problem was Collingwood’s runner was hiding Elliot Yeo, who swiftly intercepted the kick. Yeo nailed the set shot and the Eagles hit the lead, the first time they had led since they kicked the first behind of the day.

FLYIN' RYAN
Dom Sheed’s set shot to win the game was unreal, but it doesn’t happen if Liam Ryan doesn’t take one of the best marks we have seen all year – a ripper even by his standards. He didn’t have a huge impact on the game, but he produced that in the last quarter and it was what helped his side deliver a premiership.
