Ex-Chelsea star Thibaut Courtois 'dreading Antonio Conte joining Real Madrid after leaving London to get away from him'

Ex-Chelsea managers Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho are both linked with taking over at Real Madrid with Julen Lopetegui mightily struggling since taking over in the summer.

And while some Real fans would welcome Lopetegui's sacking, Courtois is said to be fuming with the names linked with the job.

According to Spanish newspaper El Pais, a source revealed that Courtois sensationally told team-mates: "I cannot believe it.

"Here I am the only one who has worked with Conte and Mourinho.

"I left London to not have to go through something like that again and now it turns out that Conte comes, and if not, Mourinho."

The report even claims that Belgian international Courtois turned "pale" after hearing the shortlist.

Courtois won Premier League titles under both Mourinho and Conte.

However, both of their reigns were marked by in-fighting and a collapse of morale in the dressing room.

The Belgian goalkeeper was believed to be a big part of the unease – with his consistent wish to leave Stamford Bridge always bubbling in the background.

Courtois is said to have been unable to hide his displeasure at Mourinho's psychological games and Conte's authoritarianism.

After years of trying, he finally got his wish to return to Madrid, where he had played for Atletico and where his two children have lived.

However, Courtois has failed to hit the ground running in the Spanish capital.

He's kept just two clean sheets from seven matches and seen Keylor Navas play in the Champions League.

Courtois is said to want Belgium Roberto Martinez, who he sees as a 'father figure', to take over at the Bernabeu.
