Conor McGregor shows off black eye after day of sparring in build-up to Khabib Nurmagemodov showdown

The infamous UFC fighter has upped the ante with his training regime as he prepares for an almighty showdown with Khabib Nurmagomedov next month.

McGregor captioned the selfie 'night night not not' and showed off the bruise under his eye.

He also then shared a snap of himself being put through his paces in the Octagon- but chose to call that shot 'another day in fight paradise'

Notorious is returning to the Octagon after a two-year hiatus and has put himself through a gruelling, but impressive, training routine.

He's been keeping his 25.8m Instagram fans updated on his progress via his social media channels.

The highly anticipated showdown will feature two of the biggest names in the sport, but the fiery Irishman's opponent is unbeaten.

McGregor is preparing to go head-to-head with Nurmagonmedov in Las Vegas in October, with the winner being crowned top-dog in the lightweight division.

The last time he fought in sin-city, he was trying a different discipline against Flloyd Mayweather.

The famous Irish fighter seems in peak shape ahead of his show down and has been showing off  off how agile he is, while packing a mean punch in videos posted on his Instagram.

But the entertaining fighter may soon be in a war of words against his opponent's team.

Speaking to the Express, the Russian's team referred to the recent episode at the Barclays Center, Javier Mandez said: "He's really motivated to fight Conor. He wants to do it the good way rather than do it the other way that Conor wanted to do it.

"Getting paid is a lot better and a lot safer and nobody is in trouble.

"There's no one in the world at 155lbs that Khabib can't take down."

The grudge match is likely to be a big pay-day for the pair, but it may not be the only big event that McGregor participates in this year.

Fans could well see Mayweather and McGregor face each other again, but this time in the octagon.

The American boxer teased fans earlier this year by suggesting that he would have his first MMA fight before the year was out.

He said:“I’m thinking about fighting in the MMA, I’ve thought about it. I started training in Miami. I look forward to fighting probably by the end of the year.

"Right now it’s a 50-50 (chance), not 100 per cent. But we’ve started training.”
