Cheltenham Festival 2019: Drovers Lane to take in Reynoldstown before Cheltenham acid test

The progressive type could head to either the JLT or RSA in March provided he produces an encouraging display at Ascot.

A winner at Cheltenham last time out, the son of the son Oscar is now an impressive three from four over fences.

Rated 150, he's just a few pounds shy of top novices Dynamite Dollars and Topofthegame, and trainer Rebecca Curtis reckons there could be more to come now he's stepped up in trip.

She said: "He'll go to the Reynoldstown next, I think.

"We'd like to step him back up to three miles and see how well he stays. Obviously after that we'll have a better indication of which race to go for at Cheltenham in March.

"Most of ours had a nice break over Christmas, but they are back fresh again now.

"He's been doing his winning on good ground and I've read there's no real rain forecast for at least another month – who knows?"

The trainer also had an update on Albert Bartlett hope Lisnagar Oscar, last seen finishing second in the trial at Cheltenham back in December.

She added: "The plan is to run him in the Albert Bartlett and I think he'll just keep on improving, he is doing so at home all the time.

"He's going to be a very nice novice chaser next year so we're just having some fun this season as it's a bonus.

"He'll definitely go chasing next year, the owners are some of the owners who had O'Faolains Boy and they love their three-mile chasers so it's a case of the sooner he gets over fences the better."
