5.10 Purple Rock – Drops back in grade and has the useful Ray Dawson taking a valuable 5lbs off. Taking a slight chance on the ground but has run well enough on soft before and looks well handicapped to strike here.

2.45 Before Midnight – The best bumper form on offer by a considerable way and under the care of Nicky Henderson he must be the one to beat in this.

3.45 Snapdragon Fire – Progressed steadily enough last season and should have more to offer after nice break. Yard are going well early in the season.
Hereford
Best bet
2.55 Ilewin Geez – Beaten at short odds the last twice but that form is still arguably stronger than what's on offer here. Should be too good for this small field.

5.30 Versifier – Small fields make this hard work but Oliver Sherwood's mare looks a good bet in this open race. The decent ground will suit and the yard's early runners have gone well.
Kempton
Best bet
8.15 Blue Mist – Course and distance winner that the handicapper could still be playing chase with. Drawn fine, and the one to beat in a good looking evening handicap.

6.45 Astronaut – Ran poorly last time, but that was in a much better field and I'm always happy to forgive a horse one effort. Looks a big price on this current rating.
