Best horse racing tips: Sun Racing's top picks for today's racing at Ascot, Newmarket, Wetherby, Ayr and Newcastle

The Sun Racing team have been studying the form and put together a best bet and each-way for all five of today's meetings.

Ascot

Best bet

3.00 Global Citizen – Looked an exciting prospect over hurdles last season and had excuses when beaten at Aintree. Trainer has high hopes for him and this is a good starting point.

Each-way

3.35 Ramses De Teilee – Useful form over fences last term, including when running with credit at the Cheltenham Festival. Interesting first time out after a wind op.

Newmarket

Best bet

3.45 Robin Of Navan – Group 1 winner three seasons ago and generally been running well in defeat in Group company this term. Eased significantly in class and can get his head back in front.

Each-way

4.15 Roller – Hasn't found the back of the net this year but has run some good races. Rare disappointing effort last time but had excuses and worth another chance dropped in class.

Wetherby

Best bet

1.30 Nightfly – Just touched off on her return from a lay-off in a good race at Worcester last time. Should be sharper now and will love the forecast good ground.

Each-way

3.15 Keeper Hill – Impressive winner of a Grade 2 novice chase at Doncaster last year. Returns over hurdles but goes well fresh and receives weight from some of his main rivals.

Ayr

Best bet

1.40 Acdc – Had something up his sleeve when winning at Wetherby last time out. Ground conditions will suit and he is a chaser very much on the up.

Each-way

3.25 Golden Jeffrey – Useful Flat performer and not disgraced in a decent race when returned to hurdling at Perth last time. On a decent mark and should go well at a price.

Newcastle

Best bet

4.00 Frederickbarbarosa – Shaped with promise in all three starts in maiden/novice company. Goes handicapping off an attractive mark for top connections.

Each-way

6.00 Melgate Melody – Lightly-raced five-year-old has clearly had his problems, but shaped with encouragement after a lay-off last time. Will be sharper now and looks well-weighted.
