Watch Mark Ronson, Diplo’s Silk City Light Up Blackout With Dua Lipa

Mark Ronson and Diplo’s new project Silk City team with Dua Lipa to bring a burst of light to a blackout in the video for their new song, “Electricity.”

The Bradley and Pablo-directed clip is set in New York City during the sweltering 2003 blackout, and it opens with Dua Lipa singing and dancing to the infectious dance cut alone in a loft. The pop star’s energy eventually creates a beacon of light that attracts a horde of people, who soon pack the poorly lit apartment for a delirious rave. Ronson and Diplo attempt to join the festivities as well, though they end up stuck in an elevator, playing with flashlights instead.

“Electricity” also features contributions from the xx’s Romy Madley-Croft and songwriter Diana Gordon, who worked on Beyoncé’s Lemonade. “Electricity” follows previously-released Silk City cuts “Only Can Get Better,” featuring Daniel Merriweather, “Feel About You,” featuring Mapei, and “Loud,” featuring GoldLink and Desiigner.

Silk City made their live debut at Governors Ball in New York earlier this summer. Their next U.S. date is a set at the Treasure Island Music Festival in Oakland, California on October 13th.
