Sylvester Stallone won't be charged over sexual misconduct allegations

Sylvester Stallone will not be charged over the sexual misconduct allegations that have been brought against him.

The office of the Los Angeles County District Attorney revealed yesterday (October 30) that it had declined a case of sexual assault against the Rocky actor.

According to documents from the DA’s office (via Deadline), there was “insufficient evidence to support a filing in addition to the allegations being outside the statute of limitations”.

The female victim claimed that she was assaulted by the actor in 1987 and 1990, though the DA said that while witnesses were provided, none of them corroborated the allegations.

Digital Spy has reached out to Stallone’s representatives for comment.

Los Angeles prosecutors began reviewing the case against Stallone back in June, though the actor has always strongly denied the allegations.

“My client categorically denies the allegations,” Stallone’s attorney Martin Singer said at the time the review started, the police then investigating a complaint from November 2017.

Stallone is best-known as the star of Oscar-winning movie Rocky, becoming an action icon in Hollywood. He has reprised the role of Rocky Balboa numerous times, including in 2015’s Creed, and he will play the role once again in the 2018 sequel Creed II.

He is also well known as a star of action franchise The Expendables, and made a cameo appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. Stallone is also due to reprise his role as Rambo in new movie Rambo V.
