Cheryl denies calling ex Liam Payne a "f**ker" on new single

Cheryl’s new single ‘Love Made Me Do It’ might sound like some serious shade to her former lover Liam Payne, but that’s not the case. At least according to Cheryl herself.

The former X Factor judge will be making her long-awaited music comeback on Friday (November 9) with the release of ‘Love Made Me Do It’, her first single in three years.

The track, co-written with Girls Aloud bandmate Nicola Roberts, already has fans talking over a lyric complaining that she’s “such a sucker” because she “falls in love with every f**ker” — curiously timed since she’s only recently split from Liam Payne.

However, Cheryl set the record straight on Jessie Ware’s Table Manners podcast by insisting that those stinging lyrics weren’t about Liam, or any of her other exes specifically.

“Actually all the music and all the songs that I’ve got ready were done way before we split – none of them are about anybody,” she said. “I wasn’t sat writing a love poem to anyone or about anybody.”

Cheryl went on: “It’s something that anyone who’s been in love will be able to relate to in some way or another.

“It’s catchy and it’s fun. It’s not about one specific person or relationship. It’s more about me being the lover of love that I am. I just love love!

“I’m excited. I’m comfortable and confident in the music, but I’m just happy to be doing it again. I’m not nervous about it. I don’t feel pressure. I just feel excited.”

Cheryl is set to promote ‘Love Made Me Do It’ in her stage comeback at Manchester’s Hits Radio Live later this month. Meanwhile, Liam definitely did recently speak publicly about the couple’s split when he complained that getting dumped is “the story of my bloody life”.
