On Thursday, Justin Timberlake’s wife Jessica Biel and his longtime pal Jimmy Fallon tested their JT knowledge in what the late-night host dubbed “The Best Friend Challenge.”
In the first round, they were asked to identify the singer’s two favorite rappers. Given that Fallon and Timberlake have performed multiple “History of Rap” duets on “Late Night” and “The Tonight Show,” you’d think he would have had a clear advantage on this one.
And you’d be wrong. He incorrectly guessed Run DMC while Biel supplied the correct answer: Mase and Outkast’s Andre 3000.
Biel 1, Fallon, 0.
In Round 2, they each had to guess his go-to cocktail.
Fallon began to suspect something up when Biel nailed her second question in a row.
“What’s a tequila mule?!?” he asked Timberlake after he revealed the correct answer. “We drink gin and tonics. That’s what we drink! You don’t like what I do for you?”
While Timberlake squirmed silently, Biel shared the recipe for tequila mules: Tequila, ginger beer and lime on the rocks.
Determined to catch up, Fallon demanded to move on. But the next question was definitely not in his wheelhouse: “What’s my safeword?”
The Roots treated the audience to their best themed music as Biel and Fallon scribbled down their answers.
Fallon actually got this one right: “Pineapple,”
That surprised Biel as much as him.
“What?!? she asked incredulously.
“How the hell did that happen?” Fallon demanded. “Things just got weird.”
