Where Do Prince Harry and Meghan Live?

Royal family members don’t typically play the real estate game like the rest of us. Most of them live in a tightly sequestered section of London, which might sound odd to people who equate wealth with private estates situated on many acres of land. But that’s just the way they’ve always done it.

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip live in Buckingham Palace. Many other royal family members, including Prince William and Kate Middleton, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, and the Duke and Duchess of Kent all live in Kensington Palace. If it sounds crowded, it’s not: Kensington Palace is enormous. Currently, 15 high-ranking royals live there.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just moved into Kensington Palace

The couple, who recently announced they are expecting their first child, moved out of their cozy two-bedroom cottage on Palace grounds and into an apartment in Kensington Palace. The newlywed lovebirds moved in after Apartment 1 underwent a huge renovation. The new space boasts 21 rooms—a huge difference from their former place. One other perk? The apartment is located directly next door to Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Rumor has it the foursome enjoy hanging out all the time. Now that Prince Harry and Meghan are having a baby, no doubt the brothers are looking forward to letting the cousins play together and be part of each other’s lives, too.

Are they moving again?

But despite the fact that Prince Harry and Meghan just moved into their new home at Kensington Palace, there are rumors swirling that they’ll be leaving soon. This royal couple is not afraid to break protocol and they might leave the royal enclave for a space of their own.

A palace insider confirmed that they could be leaving soon. “With their first child on the way, they need and want more space, but they don’t want to live next door to William and Catherine. It’s a bit too close for comfort. They are planning on having separate offices and separate agendas.”

Will the palace be split soon?

Sources speculate that there might be a split happening in the royal palace soon, with both princes going in vastly different directions with their royal duties.

As the source confirmed to Yahoo News: “William and Catherine’s life is going in a different direction than Harry and Meghan’s. The royals know it, and they both want to make sure they aren’t thought of as a package deal.”

That’s not to say that the two brothers won’t see each other anymore – just that they’ll be cultivating lives that are separated more than they’ve been in the past. And that may mean living somewhere further away than knocking distance.

So far no one knows if and when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will move – but it’s likely to come before their new arrival. No official due date was announced, but the baby is expected sometime in the spring.
