Weather presenter Laura Tobin uses report to find her twin a date

‘He’s single and ready to mingle!’ GMB weather reporter Laura Tobin tries to find her brother a GIRLFRIEND on live TV (and when he realises, he dubs her a ‘pesky sister’)

  • Weather presenter, 37, interrupted her broadcast to make a plea to find her twin brother Mark a girlfriend, as the pair prepared to celebrate their birthdays
  • Mother-of-one Laura described her brother as ‘single and ready to mingle’
  • She flashed up a photo of the pair together and said she’d love a sister-in-law
  • Mark missed the report about his love life but later called his sister ‘pesky

Good Morning Britain’s resident weather presenter, Laura Tobin, offered viewers more than just the weather yesterday, when she tried to find a girlfriend for her twin brother.

The 37-year-old mother-of-one interrupted her live broadcast to wish her sibling a happy birthday – before telling viewers he was ‘single and ready to mingle’ and asking for those interested in a date to get in touch.

While her brother, Mark Tobin, missed the embarrassing shout-out, he did later take to Twitter to call his sister ‘pesky’.

Good Morning Britain weather reporter Laura Tobin took liberties with her morning bulletin yesterday, using her slot to wish her twin Mark a happy 37th birthday, while also making a plea to find him a girlfriend

Later, the weather reporter posted this photo of her brother, Mark Tobin, on Twitter

During the broadcast, Tobin shared a photo of the siblings wearing fancy dress outfits

During the weather, chuckling sheepishly, she said: ‘I would like to say happy birthday to my twin brother Mark, I’m one minute older than him. I’m the more important twin.

‘He’s single and ready to mingle! If anyone’s interested, get in touch – you could be my sister-in-law in the future, who knows!’

She added: ‘He’s going to kill me for that. I haven’t got him a present, so that’s literally my present!’

Later, the star, who gave birth to her first daughter, Charlotte, in September last year posted a better photo of her brother, writing: ‘Oops – My twin brother Mark hasn’t seen this!’ and adding a clip from her broadcast.

He in turn responded, writing: ‘Thanks sis, I’m glad you didn’t advertise my singleness on national TV or anything like that….. #peskysisters’

While there didn’t appear to be a flood of potential dates on social media, plenty of people wished the pair a happy 37th birthday.

Earlier this year the meteorologist brought her then 11-month old daughter Charlotte into the studio and read out the weather with ease while the baby girl sat on her hip.

Laura was praised by viewers for ‘keeping it real’ and representing working mums on the morning chat show.

‘He’s going to kill me when he sees this!’ Tobin did look a little awkward at the end of her virtual personal ad for brother Mark

She had been on GMB to talk about her new range of cards designed especially to congratulate the parents of premature babies, inspired by the fact she didn’t receive any when her daughter Charlotte was born three months early.

Charlotte was born weighing just 2.5lbs and was placed on oxygen support at first but grew strong enough and was sent home with her doting parents.

Laura has created a series of cards for new mums who have given birth prematurely, with appropriate messages that have been carefully worded in light of what they’ve been through.

She revealed that mums are sent cards meant for babies who were born full term, which contain happy messages that can be upsetting in stressful times.

Laura herself didn’t get any cards because she felt her family didn’t know what to say, and so has brought out cards with appropriate messages like ‘welcome to the world little fighter’.
