The 35-year-old revealed that she had recently turned to swimming as a pre-natal exercise as it makes her feel ‘weightless’

It is possible that active Pippa had been for a swim this morning having recently revealed that she had taken up the activity as a pre-natal exercise.

Writing in her column for Waitrose Weekend last month, Pippa – who is expecting her first child with husband James Matthews – explained: ‘Swimming throughout pregnancy offers a wonderful feeling of weightlessness.

‘From personal experience, I’d confidently say I find it has been the most enjoyable and rewarding form of exercise since I found out I was expecting.’

Pippa has kept up a regular exercise routine throughout her pregnancy and has detailed her workouts in her Waitrose Weekend column

Pippa is known to be a keen gym-goer, and has competed in triathalons and swimming competitions in the past.

The author and socialite also revealed how she continued work out for 45 minutes three to four times a week, depending on her energy levels, throughout her first trimester.

She said she would go to the gym for strengthening and conditioning, Pilates or yoga, but made sure her routines were lighter than usual.

On days when she wasn’t at the gym, she explained how she went cycling or walking with weights to make it more challenging.
