Howdy, fam! While traveling internationally is extremely lucrative, it can also get very expensive. That’s why, you should probably know that there are some amazing cities for you to explore right here in the United States! One of our personal faves? Nashville, Tennessee.
If you’re obsessed with music, barbecue or just having a dang good time, you should probably consider hitting up Music City. Regardless of whether country music is your thing or not, the city is full of amazing food, great energy, and poppin’ nightlife. Don’t worry, though… we wouldn’t send you there without a list of must-see spots! If you’re thinking about heading down to Nash, here are some things that you simply can’t miss. Ready, set, GO!
Proper Bagel
Start your day off with a trip to Proper Bagel. It has some of the best-tasting bagels you’ll ever find outside of NYC, and there are about a million bread/spread options to choose from.
Even if you don’t like bagels, there are plenty of other delicious items on the menu, such as avocado toast, fresh coffee and homemade pastries. And for those with dietary restrictions, Proper Bagel also offers gluten-free and vegan options!
Amelia’s Flower Truck
Amelia’s Flower Truck is a favorite among the young and hip millennial crowd. Whether you want to create your own bouquet or leave it to the professionals, this shop will make your flowers look totally Instagrammable.
There are actually two trucks, and they move around Nashville from day to day, so check out their website to see their location when you’re trying to visit.
“I Believe in Nashville” Mural
If you don’t Instagram a picture of the “I Believe in Nashville” mural, did you even go to Nashville?!
Channel you inner basic b*tch and snap a photo or two of this classic street art staple. It’s just a few minutes down the road from where Amelia’s Flower Truck usually sits (outside of imogene + willie), so you won’t have to go out of your way to find it.
Nashville Flea Market
The Nashville Flea Market is only open every last weekend of the month, so if you’re lucky enough to be visiting at the right time, it’s a must-see!
With an average of 800 to 1,200 vendors, the flea market has just about everything you could ever want. You’re bound to find at least one unique item, and they also have a variety of food trucks to curb your hunger!
Country Music Hall of Fame
Nashville is the home of country music, so of course you have to visit the Country Music Hall of Fame!
Even if you’re not a crazy country fan, the museum is still pretty dang cool. You get to see artifacts from Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Taylor Swift and more! And you can also tour the Historic RCA Studio B, where thousands of country greats have recorded their music.
Centennial Park
If you’re in need of some fresh air, take a walk through Centennial Park. The area has been open to the public since 1903 and offers beautiful scenery that includes a garden, lake and walking trail.
The biggest attraction at the park is the Parthenon, which is located right in the center. The building is actually a full-scale replica of the Greek version, and there’s a full museum inside!
Grimey’s
To all the music lovers out there, this one’s for you. Grimey’s has thousands of new and “pre-loved” records, which are conveniently sorted out by genre. There’s also a selection of used books and even vintage clothing! And, if you’re lucky, you might even catch an in-store performance while you’re there!
The Grand Ole Opry
You didn’t think we’d make a Nashville travel guide without including the Grand Ole Opry, did you?
Country music’s most famous stage is still going strong, and it hosts concerts almost every single night. The venue always provides a mix of classic and contemporary artists, and you can see the scheduled performers on the website. But sometimes there are surprise guests, so you never know who you’re going to see!
Barcelona Wine Bar
After a full day of exploring the city, you’ve probably worked up quite an appetite. There’s tons of classic Southern food around, but if you want something a little out of the box, head to Barcelona Wine Bar.
Old Glory
If you’re looking for a cool bar in Nash for a night out with your BFFs, there are tons of ’em. But one of our personal favorites has got to be Old Glory! The lounge is located in the former boiler room for White Way Cleaners, which used to be one of the largest steam cleaning facilities in Nashville. The awesome part is that the space still has some of its original elements from the 1920s, so if you’re trying to have a good time but also get that Insta, you can probably achieve both.
Cheekwood
Speaking of getting that Insta, you should probably also hit up Cheekwood on your visit to Music City as well. Essentially, Cheekwood is a 55-acre estate that also has a botanical garden and a Museum of Art. Not totally sold on the idea of going yet? Just think of all of the content it’ll give you for your feed!
Broadway
NGL, to Nashville natives, Broadway probably seems like one big tourist trap. However, if you’re just visiting, it’s simply a can’t-miss spot.
If you ask us, you could probably walk up and down Broadway all day long and not get bored. The street truly captures the essence of what Nashville is all about, from the incredible barbeque eats to the music flooding out the windows and into the street. Trust us… you have to go!
