Meghan Markle will not allow herself to be swayed by the continued public antics of her half-sister Samantha Markle as she settles into her official duties as the Duchess of Sussex in the royal family.
Entertainment Tonight reported that Samantha Markle showed up to Kensington Palace uninvited earlier this month. A source close to the royals revealed to Entertainment Tonight how Meghan Markle and her royal in-laws are dealing with this difficult situation.
“The palace doesn’t want to dignify any of it because it just adds fuel to the fire,” the source said to ET. “Samantha revels in the attention. Meghan is not corresponding with her sister or father,” stated the source.
Markle officially became a member of the royal family on May 19 when she wed Prince Harry in a grand ceremony at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.
“Meghan loves her new role,” the source noted of Markle’s new royal duties. “She takes it very seriously and wants to make a difference. She’s mindful that she’s representing the Queen and the royal family and doesn’t want to put a foot wrong.”
The source also noted that Markle realizes how important Harry’s role as the New Commonwealth Youth Ambassador is and wants to support him.
Apparently, revealed ET, Markle and Prince Harry consider themselves “a great team.”
Samantha Markle has remained insistent on speaking to her sister and Prince Harry after being rebuffed by Meghan Markle by not being invited to the royal wedding.
She and her father Thomas Markle continue to blast the prince and Meghan in the press, voicing their displeasure at her actions toward them since becoming engaged to Prince Harry.
In a recent interview with TV personality and journalist Jeremy Vine, Samantha apologized for her remarks over the past few months, looking to put the past in the past between herself and her half-sister, as reported by ET.
“There is so much water under the bridge and so much has spun out of control that was never intended to,” she explained. “I think everybody was hurt by not being included or invited to the wedding, but I felt as though it could have all been nipped in the bud had everyone been included and we all just agreed to move forward with positive resolve, and the hurt feelings wouldn’t have snowballed.”
Samantha Markle also remarked that she feels that families can act out when there is confusion within a clan.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will head to Australia, Fiji, the Kingdom of Tonga and New Zealand later this month on a royal tour.
