Make the most of the last days of summer with these top deals from Mrs Crunch

Save with sizzling barbecue offers or pack in tasty prices on picnic food. And with beer, wine and soft drinks going cheap too, you can raise your glass to what has been a magical summer.

Soft drinks


  • Morrisons The Best summer punch, 750ml, was £1.44, now £1.25.
  • Perfect for the last Pimm’s, Freeway premium lemonade (2l), 30p at Lidl.
  • Save 99p on Bottlegreen sparkling elderflower at Waitrose, now £1.50, was £2.49.
  • Morrisons The Best sparkling Sicilian lemonade, 750ml, was £1.44, now £1.25.

 

Beer and wine

  • Get 8x250ml bottles of Argus Imported French lager from Lidl for £1.99.
  • Save £2 on Budweiser, 18x440ml, now £14 at Sainsbury’s. Get two four-packs for £8 on San Miguel cans, or £4.60 each, at Waitrose.
  • Enjoy two for £10 on selected wines at Morrisons, including Alzar malbec, £7. Seaview Australian chardonnay pinot noir is down to £4.99 from £6.99 at Lidl. Save a third on Ara Single
  • Vineyard sauvignon blanc, was £10.99 now £6.99 until Tuesday at Waitrose. Heredad del Rey, Seleccion Reservada Spanish red wine, was £7.99, now £5.99 at Waitrose until Tuesday.
  • Save £1.50 on Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference Conegliano prosecco, now £8.50 — plus buy any six bottles of wine or more until Sunday and save 25 per cent.
  • Save a third on Heretat El Padruell cava rosado at M&S, was £8.50 now £5.67.

Ice cream and desserts


  • Get two for £3 on Morrisons Rocky Road ice cream, 900ml, £2. Lidl’s Gelatelli cookie dough ice cream, 500ml, is £1.99.
  • Get two for £7 on Dessert Menu ice cream at M&S, including salted caramel ice cream, 500ml, £4.
  • Get two for £6 on selected Ben & Jerry’s ice cream at Waitrose, or £4.50 each.

The ultimate burger

YOU NEED:

  • 600g lean minced steak
  • 1 tbsp English mustard
  • 1 tbsp chives, finely chopped
  • 100g extra-mature Cheddar, diced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 rashers back bacon
  • 4 buns; ketchup
  • 8 slices gherkin
  • 1 large tomato, sliced

Pimm's strawberry meringue pie

YOU NEED:

  • 300g shortcrust pastry
  • 500g fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1 orange, juice and finely grated zest only
  • 150ml Pimm’s
  • 300g caster sugar
  • 1 tbsp fresh mint, chopped
  • 5 eggs, separated
  • 3 tbsp cornflour
  • 80g butter, cubed
