This is The Best Water Bottle Brand to Drink – The Cheat Sheet

True or false? Some water bottle brands are worse than tap water. Unfortunately, the answer is true — not all bottled water is created equal. Some are more equal to soda than water. How is this possible? It all comes down to pH level. Some water bottle brands have a pH level more aligned with that of a Coca-Cola than actual drinking water, which can create an acidic environment in the body. That said, there are some bottled water brands with a more neutral or alkaline pH level that can help balance your system out and neutralize the acid in your body. Curious to know what the best water bottle brand to drink is? We’ve got that covered, ahead.

What is a safe pH level for drinking water

When it comes down to it, the best water bottle brand to drink is the one with a pH level that falls between 7.0 and 9.0 (aka, alkaline). Anything with a pH level less than 7.0 (aka, acidic) is considered harmful to the body. To add to that, many popular water bottle brands have a scary low pH level — some are around 5.5 — and can dissolve tooth enamel, the hardest substance in the body.

One way to check the pH of your bottled water is to look at the label. However, don’t be too trusting. According to the American Dental Hygienists Association, water bottle brands aren’t the most honest with their customers. Some brands list a “safe zone” pH level, but the bottled water tests out as more acidic — scary!

Unfortunately, that means to always do your research when shopping for the best water bottle brand to drink. Luckily, websites like Alkaline Water Plus exist to make our at-home investigations a little easier. And, if you want to go full on Sherlock Holmes, you can purchase pH testing strips online to reveal the best water bottle brand to drink.

Not into research? Don’t worry. We’ve done the investigating for you! Peep the top ten best water bottle brands to drink, ahead.

pH level: 7.0

Unlike other cult-favorite water bottle brands (SmartWater, Voss, and Poland Springs — to name a few), Evian has a safe pH level of 7.0. 9. Eternal

pH level: 7.0

Eternal prides itself on its alkaline level. Its slogan is “naturally alkaline.” But, while its pH level falls at a 7.0, it’s still not the best water bottle brand to drink. That said, choosing to drink Eternal water is much better than Dasani, which has a pH of 4.5.

8. Volvic

pH level: 7.0

Another water bottle brand with a more neutral, alkaline pH level? Volvic. Like Evian and Eternal, the water bottle brand has a pH level of 7.0, which is much higher than the unsafe 5.5.

6. Absopure

There must be a reason Real Water calls itself Real. With a pH of 8.0, the alkaline water can quench your thirst without interfering with your health.
