The Real Reason Why Melania Trump Calls Barron ‘Little Donald’

Donald Trump Jr. may share a name with his father, but as it turns out, his much younger half-brother seems to have a much closer resemblance to Donald J. Trump. Barron, Donald and Melania Trump’s 12-year-old son, has already earned himself the nickname, ‘Little Donald.’

To be honest, the similarities are pretty uncanny. Here’s everything Barron has picked up from his father, including their shared favorite sport (page 5) and Melania’s explanation as to why she gave Barron the nickname in the first place (page 7).

1. He’s pretty comfortable in a suit

As Barron gets older, we can definitely see a physical resemblance to his father. However, maybe it’s just because he looks so comfortable in a suit. Melania told ABC News in 2013, “He’s not a sweatpants child.”

She explained, “He doesn’t mind putting on [a suit] — but not every day — and he likes to dress up in a tie sometimes like [his] daddy.”

2. He likes building towers

We’re not exactly surprised that Barron has a love for building towers. For now, he’s sticking to miniature-sized structures, made up of Legos and Magna-Tiles.

Melania told Parenting magazine that when Barron was only 6 years old, he could play by himself with his building blocks for hours at a time. Could he be getting a jump start on his career by planning out a Trump Tower he’d love to construct one day?

3. His upbringing has been quite privileged

Growing up as the son of a billionaire, it’s safe to say Barron has had quite the privileged childhood so far. According to Inquisitr, “Barron Trump has an entire floor of a three-story penthouse that he calls his own space in his tower home in Manhattan.”

We’re sure if he ever needs “a small loan of a million dollars” for more space like Donald got from his own father, the president wouldn’t mind sparing the change.

4. He’s already gone to some prestigious schools

Donald is proud to have gone Ivy League for college at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He’s already passed his prestigious status of education down to his own son — well before college.

In New York, Barron attended Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School. Tuition racks up $40,000 per year, which the Trump family obviously sees as money well spent.

Due to Barron’s relocation to Washington, D.C., he now attends St. Andrew’s Episcopal School. The tuition is about the same as his old school, and it has a pretty impressive mission to “know and inspire each student in an inclusive community dedicated to exceptional teaching, learning, and service.”

5. He loves golfing

According to Melania, Barron is already picking up Donald’s golfing habits. She explained to Parenting magazine how her son has grown to love the president’s favorite sport.

“We spend a lot of time in Mar-a-Lago,” she said. “There they play golf, spend time together, eat dinner together, and we enjoy family time. It is always a really special time.”

Barron has obviously been paying close attention to his father’s behavior. According to Anthony Senecal, a former butler to the Trump family, Barron has been bossing people around since he was a toddler.

At only two years old, Barron scolded Senecal from his high chair when the butler was serving breakfast. “Tony! Sit down! We need to talk!,” Barron reportedly demanded.

Melania seems approve of the personality traits Barron has picked up from Donald. She raved of her son, “He is a very strong-minded, very special, smart boy. He is independent and opinionated and knows exactly what he wants. Sometimes I call him ‘Little Donald.’”
