Calling all gladiators: It’s time to celebrate a momentous occasion. With one chapter closing, it looks like Lowes is ready to start a brand-new one: parenthood.

“Baby’s‪ ‬first #Scandal Thursday‪! @shappyshaps and‪ ‬I‪ ‬are thrilled to welcome Albee Shapiro to our family! We’re happy & healthy! #BabyGladiator,” she wrote alongside a sweet photo of little Albee’s feet and the requisite TGI Thursday trappings: popcorn, red wine and…a power drill? Is Lowes giving fans a sneak peek into something coming on one of Thursday night’s soapy hits?
And though Lowes’ shoutout to her Shondaland pals is pretty cute, the little guy’s name may leave some fans scratching their heads. Of course, celebrities are no strangers to unique baby names, and we can’t wait to hear the story behind Lowes’ choice of Albee. Inspired by Flight of the Conchords’ racist dragon, perhaps? Probably not. Since both Lowes and her husband are actors, it could be an homage to playwright Edward Albee, the Pulitzer Prize-winning scribe behind Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and The Sandbox, who died in 2016. According to BabyCenter, the popularity of the name Albee was actually on the rise in the past few years, though it has dropped since 2016.

“I told her five minutes from being pregnant,” Lowes explained to Kimmel. “She already knew — she’s a genius.”
