Pippa Middleton Gives Birth, Welcomes First Child With Husband James Matthews

Party of three! Pippa Middleton and her husband, James Matthews, have welcomed their first child together, a source confirms to Us Weekly.

The 35-year-old gave birth at St Mary’s Hospital in London. “James and Pippa have had a baby boy. He was born Monday 15th October at 1:58 p.m., weighing 8 lbs and 9 oz,” Middleton’s rep tells Us. “Everyone is delighted and Mother and baby are doing well.”

Middleton confirmed her pregnancy in June and dished about working out during her first trimester. “I’m fanatical about sport and have looked at loads of books and websites on exercise during pregnancy but have been disappointed by the limited technical information on what you can and can’t do,” she wrote in a guest column for the U.K.’s Waitrose magazine at the time. The socialite noted that she’s had to change her exercise routine to accommodate her circumstances: “And this being my first pregnancy, I had so many questions I felt were still unanswered.”

The writer added that she and Matthews kept their pregnancy a secret during the “early months” so she had to create her own workout regimen, rather than turning to fitness professionals for advice.

Us confirmed Middleton’s baby news in April. A source told Us at the time that Middleton has sought out sister Duchess Kate’s advice about motherhood.

“Kate has so much knowledge to share,” the insider told Us of the Duchess of Cambridge, who shares son Prince George, 4, Princess Charlotte, 3, and Prince Louis with husband Prince William. “She’s a walking baby encyclopedia at this point!”

Middleton and the race car driver wed in May 2017. Three months later, a pal told Us that they were “trying for a baby.” Their baby news comes just one day after it was revealed that Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are expecting their first bundle of joy.
