Leslie Mann Says Daughter Maude ‘Doesn’t Listen’ to Her Acting Advice

Maude Apatow is not here for her mother’s advice when it comes to acting. Leslie Mann has garnered more than 40 acting credits over the course of her career, but the Blockers star says her eldest daughter doesn’t follow her guidance when it comes to the craft.

“She doesn’t really listen to me,” the Hollywood vet, 46, told Us Weekly at the Welcome to Marwen premiere at ArcLight Cinemas in L.A. on Monday, December 10, about doling out words of wisdom on their shared craft. “I try, but she doesn’t listen.”

Apatow seems to be doing just fine on her own, however: The 20-year-old has been stealing the silver-screen spotlight since the age of 7 in films such as The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up. She’s also landed roles on HBO’s hit Girls as Cleo and is currently filming the network’s new series Euphoria, in which she’ll play Lexi.

Mann has taught Apatow quite a few things in other arenas, however — particularly when it comes to fashion. The actress told Us in June that Maude comes to her for advice in the style and beauty departments … and vice versa. “I ask their opinions and they ask mine,” she said of Maude and daughter Iris, 16, at the time. “Iris doesn’t really care what I have to say. Maude does a little more than Iris, and then I care what both of them have to say. That’s how it works!”

The Croods 2 star revealed on Monday that she, her daughters and her husband, Judd Apatow, will be soon be taking their fashions overseas for the holidays. “We’re going to go to London,” she said. “Yeah, I’ll see you there.”
