Jessica Simpson Throws Son Ace a Baseball and Parrot Birthday, Gets Freaked Out by Birds – Us Weekly

Maybe next year he’ll request a puppy party? Jessica Simpson shared pictures from the birthday bash she and husband Eric Johnson threw for their 5-year-old son, Ace. The theme was “Baseball and Parrots” and while Simpson, 37, noted in her Sunday, July 1, Instagram post that the combination was a “dream come true” for Ace, Simpson could have done without the birds.

In one photo, the 37-year-old fashion mogul sits beside former NFL player Johnson, 38. The couple sport matching “Green Sox” jerseys as they pose with two parrots. One is seen perched on Simpson’s shoulder, and the singer completely freaked out. “I’m totally comfortable here,” she joked in the caption. Johnson however, wears a genuine smile and appears at ease.

The mom of Maxwell, 6, and Ace also posted a family shot, where she is the only one not grinning. Both kids — who had their hair dyed a medley of colors for the special day — balance yellow birds on their heads.

For Ace’s celebration, Simpson enlisted event planner Stephanie Terblanche  to transform her backyard into a wonderland of fun activities. Revelers ate lunch on picnic tables in a makeshift dugout and satisfied their sweet tooth at a dessert table that boasted baseball-shaped donuts, cupcakes and an extravagant three-layer birthday cake.

In May, Maxwell (“Maxi”) turned 6 with a Greatest Showman soiree that featured acrobats, juggles and unicycles. Last year, Ace celebrated turning 4 with a Moana-themed party.

Simpson is loving this phase of motherhood. “Right now my kids are in this amazing stage where I’m really listening to them without judgement,” she told Us Weekly in May. “And they’re teaching me so much.”
