Jenna Dewan’s ‘Instagram vs. Reality’ Post Is Parenting in a Nutshell

Jenna Dewan issued a hilarious PSA to her Instagram followers: Don’t believe what you see on social media.

The World of Dance host, 37, shared two photos on Monday, July 9. In the first, she is seen soaking up sun in a swimming pool. It’s an idyllic shot with Dewan perfectly posed on a $148 Missoni x Funboy butterfly wing float. The next picture is quite different —because Dewan’s 5-year-old daughter, Everly, has now joined the frame. With Everly clinging to her, Dewan clumsily slides off the designer lounger and into the water. She captioned her hilarious post: “Instagram vs., reality.”

It should come as no surprise that the Step Up star’s joke resonated with other parents. “Lol. Mom life,” wrote one fan. Added another, “Hahaha. I freaking love this!!! Children love to get in our personal space!! But your sense of humor is amazing!!!”

Dewan who shares Everly with her estranged husband, Channing Tatum, opened up to Us Weekly about their little environmentalist in May. “She’ll be like, “Mommy, you need to recycle that.’ Or ‘Be careful.  Respect nature!” the actress revealed. “She goes to all different camps where she’s learning about nature and she’s with the trees.”

Meanwhile, Dewan could probably use just a little bit of alone time on her butterfly float. “I have learned the hard way about burning the candle at both ends,” she admitted to Us at the time. “I try . . . before I get that feeing to go and have a spa day or a hike with friends. Or meditate. I know that sounds so boring, but that’s literally what I do!”
