Ivana Trump Shares Her Secrets to Raising Good Kids

Ivana Trump ran a tight ship when Donald Trump Jr., 40, Ivanka, 36, and Eric, 34, were growing up.

“Teach your kids discipline,” Ivana, 69, told Us Weekly at the Angel Ball 2018 in New York City on Monday, October 22. “You have to keep them busy, busy, busy. They go to school, then they have an after school activity, they come home and they do homework.” If the kids stick to that schedule, they “will go to bed by 7:30,” the former model explained.

Ivana, who shares her three children with President Donald Trump, also stressed the importance of teaching youngsters to be financially responsible. “If you give them the money, they go shopping,” the Czechoslovakia native told Us. “Then they have money to buy drugs and alcohol. Keep them on a really low budget.”

Though Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric are busy with family and careers, they still go to their mom for advice. “They do their own life,” she revealed. “But they call me, you know, we discuss things.”

The Raising Trump author and real estate tycoon, 72, ended their 15- year marriage in1992 amid his affair with Marla Maples, but the exes remain close. (Trump and Maples, 54, were married from 1993 to 1999. He tied the knot with First Lady Melanie Trump in 2005. )

Ivana dazzled at Monday’s event in a glittery ball gown. The Angel Ball honors the memory of Gabrielle Rich Aouad and benefits Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research. According to its website, the non-profit funds “cutting edge” research in the fields of leukemia, lymphoma and other blood cancers.
