Connie Britton Is 51 and Just Flashed Legs We Would Kill For

At 51 years old, Connie Britton is back in the spotlight and looking better than ever!

The actress showed off her muscular legs in a long sleeve Magda Butrym minidress and a pair of black pumps at the 2018 InStyle Awards in L.A. on October 22. The event, sponsored by Fiji, honored Julia Roberts, Constance Wu, Meghan Markle wedding dress designer Clare Waight Keller and more and featured a speech by Jennifer Aniston praising her longtime hairstylist, Chris McMillan.

Known for her mane of red hair, Britton has never disappointed on the fitness front either. “It’s hard to trick exercise. Exercise is exercise,” the star once told Us when asked if she had a workout shortcut, adding that her diet was a different story. “I find that my body responds so well to fresh, raw food. And it’s really like giving your body pure fuel. There’s no waste and there’s nothing extra that your body has to deal with, and it’s a really, really clean way to eat. I feel all the difference when I eat that way.”

As for her specific fitness routine, the star is a big fan of Pilates. “I think it’s such a great, great all-over toner,” she told Us in April 2014. Hot yoga, she added, is also top of her list. “I love doing hot yoga,” she gushed to Us. “Anything that feels like it impacts mind, body, spirit — I’m down.”

Indeed, the former Nashville lead has long relied on meditation. “Everything that we portray on the outside I think comes from how we’re feeling on the inside. I’ve been a big meditator my whole life,” she continued, adding. “I always said the way I’m going to avoid plastic surgery is by meditating! Because I really do think that if you allow yourself to take those few moments to breath and settle yourself, it de-stresses your skin as well as the rest of your body.”

The American Horror Story actress next stars in Dirty John, premiering on Bravo on Sunday, November 25 at 10 p.m. ET. Based on journalist Christopher Goffard’s true crime podcast of the same name, the highly anticipated drama explores the life of con man John Meehan (played by Eric Bana) and his relationship with Britton’s Debra Newell.
